A Legacy Built on
Paint & Pride
Niagara Star Painters was founded in 1961, and Incorporated on Dec. 28, 1973. Founded by Vito Golia . Vito Golia came to Canada at 19 years of age (1956) and after several years of working, decided to start his own painting business in 1961. He named it Niagara Star Painters. He started out offering interior and exterior painting services as well as wood floor refinishing. Decided to open his own retail location in_1964 on Drummond Rd, Niagara Falls, which was named Golia Color Centre.
Expanded his retail store and opened new location in 1967 in downtown Niagara Falls, Queen St. Retail store offered paint, paint supplies, and wallpaper. The product line later grew to include carpet and carpet installation.
In 1977 Vito built a commercial building where the retail store was located for the next 42 years. This retail location included paint, paint supplies, wallpaper, carpet, vinyl flooring, ceramic tile, and window coverings. Niagara Star Painters continued to work out of the same location, and expanded to commercial, and industrial projects.
In late 1980’s daughter & son joined company. In 2019 retail store was closed, Teresa purchased NSP and continued. Expanding into commercial, industrial, multi-residential, and institutional. In 2022, Teresa’s son Patrick joined the company.
Six Decades of Excellence
Founded by Vito Golia
Vito Golia started Niagara Star Painters offering interior and exterior painting services, as well as wood floor refinishing.
First Retail Location
Opened his own retail location on Drummond Rd in Niagara Falls, named Golia Color Centre.
Expansion to Queen St
Expanded the retail store to a new location in downtown Niagara Falls on Queen St, adding paint supplies, wallpaper, and later carpet installation.
Incorporation
Niagara Star Painters was officially incorporated on December 28, 1973.
New Commercial Building & Expansion
Vito built a new commercial building for the retail store. Niagara Star Painters continued from this location and expanded into commercial and industrial projects.
Second Generation Joins
Vito's daughter and son officially joined the family company, bringing new energy to the growing business.
A New Chapter
The retail store was closed, and Teresa purchased Niagara Star Painters. The company expanded further into commercial, industrial, multi-residential, and institutional sectors.
Third Generation
Teresa's son Patrick joined the company, proudly continuing the family legacy into its third generation.
